i've seen so many lovely ideas for flowers placed in eggshells, & easter week seemed the perfect time to share....would make a beautiful setting for an easter table, or just a lovely easter gift for someone....

four seasons x

it feels as if we've experienced all four seasons in the past week; from glorious sunshine, to april showers, & now to snow showers, the weather is incredible.  i feel really lucky at the moment to be able to sit out in the sun, or stay wrapped up indoors & enjoy the weather what ever it may be....

whilst sitting, enjoying the snow flurries from the warmth & comfort of the sofa, i found some lovely *four season* appropriate lovelies on etsy, including the simple four seasons tea towel from bailey doesn't bark, who are also selling a lovely notebook set with the same design, & loved this gorgeous print *lovely 5 season birds* by neiko, & lastly *season's passing* by mandy gerth....

i wanted to bring a little of my sunny day to you all today....it's unseasonably warm, actually hot is probably a better description, and it's so lovely to be outside, to be able to open windows & doors & let the fresh air blow through the house & my thoughts....

....how long this weather will last is anyone's guess, but i'm going to make the most of every sunny minute....

I think the answer is soon; although the mornings still have a hint of mist & cold about them, the days are becoming brighter & sunnier, lawn mowers heard up & down the street

thinking of planting some potatoes this week; new potatoes that will be make great salads

a lovely treat through the door at lunchtime today...the spring *cox&cox* catalogue ~ of course, it would be rude of me not to share some of their lovely new finds with you, just to give you the opportunity to swoon over the many many lovely things, like these gorgeous bud vases in new shades of deauville mauve & bungee {see, even the colour names are enough to make your mouth water...}, not to mention this stunning red quilt & bedside table, plus all the loveliness shown above....

today has been just lovely, sun shining, a real spring like day, mostly spent in the garden weeding, and in the kitchen baking....

snow is promised today. i'm debating whether to go out & stock up on a few goodies so i can hibernate if the snow appears. on the other hand i had promised myself that i would tidy out the greenhouse today ready for spring seedlings, although it is so cold that spring feels a long way away.

it's so cold & here in the uk the weather is wet & so very windy & it's hard to believe that spring will ever be arrive, so while we're waiting lets indulge in some lovely whimsical images...

my grandma had a wonderful rose garden & as i once again begin to think about my dream garden, think it would be lovely to include lots of rose bushes within it, but maybe lots of those old fashioned varieties, in gorgeously soft vanilla, blush & tearose hues.....

do you think the anticipation of being tired can make you tired? i'm going away again next week & know i will be tired, and think that worrying about being tired is now making me tired.....! or maybe it's a strange kind of jetlag from that missing hour at the weekend.....?

anyway, whatever it is, this week i feel tired.....bedtime calls earlier & earlier....

bought my first daffodils of the year today, on this very first day of british summer time. they are now sitting on my windowsill, my two bunches for the price of one now artistically arranged (crammed into!) in a jamjar....

i'm sure today would have been a great day to go visit the garden centre & then spend the day tidying & prepping the garden, but instead i've enjoyed a lazy sunday watching *sex and the city* back to back, planning easter cupcakes to make next week and playing with/trying to work out my lovely new *diana f+ edelweiss camera....maybe the garden next weekend?

spring wardrobe....x

time to start thinking about a new spring wardrobe i think.....i cannot believe i was so excited about *anthropologie* opening here in the uk, and yet have still not managed to find a spare moment to go visit the new store on regent street.....and i read they are opening their second store on kings road at the end of this week.....i must must must find the time to go (probably once i've saved a few pennies to spend!)
