off to london today; a day of meeting with agencies & a little bit of {window} shopping, taking a look at all the lovely spring things & wishing of warmer weather. debating how many cardi's to layer & if both a scarf & snood is overkill, and will my uggs with my pretty floral dress hit this season's grunge look, or be more bag lady chic?

....& very cold....fruit bread is baking {& yes, i'm cheating a little today with the breadmaker....}, & plans for the day are simple; a walk to our local market, sharing the chocolate cake i made yesterday with family {to ensure i don't eat the whole lot myself...}, the final coat of paint, & still in pursuit of that perfect charcoal flooring

oh, and maybe a little bit of knitting.....

have recently discovered knitting again, and now the nights are drawing in there's something cosy about sitting in the evening knitting away....especially with the chunky needles & yarn bought in portland last month.....i love the fact you can knit away & nearly finish a scarf or hat in a couple of evenings {great for those of us who don't have much in the way of patience!}

*rowan* has some lovely yarns, and have found some lovely {free} patterns on their website; i have my eye on some knitted cushion covers, a really cosy throw & that amazing rug with knitted flowers....gorgeous!

have had a really lovely weekend, the house is tidy, which always makes me feel more content, and now sitting with glass of red wine, looking forward to an interesting week at work

another monday, another blanket of snow....hope you've had a good start to your week....i'm feeling very lucky to have another week on holiday from work (although i am popping in for a quick meeting tomorrow!) and am going to make the most of each day....

....inspired by all you creative lovelies i have taken up the knitting needles again, lovely new cath kidston knitting needles, currently working their way through a cream cable cushion cover....i had ambitiously wanted to start with a cable throw but thought it might be a little more realistic to start with something a little smaller....

....i also want to learn how to crochet, properly, i have a vague recollection of sitting "crocheting" when i was younger, in fact i think i was just repeating the same stitch over & over with no real goal in mind....but i love the granny chic cushion covers & squares from the lovely emma lamb and would love to have a few of my own scattered around the house.....

off now to brave the snowy roads for dinner with friends
