torie jayne wrote a lovely post last week about inspiration walls & i wanted to dig out some of my favourite images to share.  at work i always had lots of lovely images & inspiration around me, sometimes to the despair of neater colleagues {ho hum....}, but as yet i've not put anything in my new work space....which needs to change, especially as this week i've been feeling less than inspired & a little lethargic ~ something which the damp, wet weather is not helping with ~ so my aim, & promise, is to post some pics of my inspiration wall by saturday....

lots of lovely lace inspiration today....hoping to put the finishing touches to a patchwork lace curtain for my {nearly} finished study today....just love that i can start putting to use all the vintage lace & embroidered tablecloths that i have squirrelled away over the last few years....i don't think i'll be giving dottie angel a run for her money just yet, but stay tuned.....

a vintage christmas....x

after days of promising to decorate the house for xmas the baubles were finally unwrapped on saturday....i always love unwrapping them from the layers of tissue paper & bubble wrap & always forget how many beautiful ornaments i have, each one holding a different memory; baubles bought in anthropologie on trips to new york, baubles received as gifts from friends & i always forget that i have so many.....

my mum & dad still have all the baubles from when we were children & {somewhere in the house} i still have a suitcase of baubles that adorned my grandparents tree each year. i love the look of my baubles, burnished gold, glass & opalescent, but next year maybe i'll have a nostalgic vintage xmas...

after many days of promising myself that i'd make time to unwrap all my xmas baubles, today i finally took time to put on some xmas songs & with an ever growing pile of tissue paper & bubble wrap, xmas finally took over in my house. whilst i'm writing this i can catch the xmas lights twinkling on the tree & the 'strictly come dancing' final is on the tv adding to the sparkle & sequins....

i love pinterest, along with so many others....i love the way that after a few weeks of pinning you wonder what you did before it came along.

xmas is coming....x

i had lots of good intentions of starting to unpack baubles yesterday, but after a day of baking bread & tidying, didn't quite get round to adding a bit of sparkle around the house.

i'm torn this year between getting a real tree or doing something a bit different? i love the simple wooden plank tree below, simply strewn with lights....i wonder if i could persuade my dad to knock one of these together for me?

whatever the decision on the tree, i'm sure that the baubles will make an appearance today, & i have xmas cards to make, wrapping to do & handmade presents to make a decision on...all in all a wonderfully christmassy day....it must be time for xmas songs?
