four seasons x

it feels as if we've experienced all four seasons in the past week; from glorious sunshine, to april showers, & now to snow showers, the weather is incredible.  i feel really lucky at the moment to be able to sit out in the sun, or stay wrapped up indoors & enjoy the weather what ever it may be....

whilst sitting, enjoying the snow flurries from the warmth & comfort of the sofa, i found some lovely *four season* appropriate lovelies on etsy, including the simple four seasons tea towel from bailey doesn't bark, who are also selling a lovely notebook set with the same design, & loved this gorgeous print *lovely 5 season birds* by neiko, & lastly *season's passing* by mandy gerth....

snow is promised today. i'm debating whether to go out & stock up on a few goodies so i can hibernate if the snow appears. on the other hand i had promised myself that i would tidy out the greenhouse today ready for spring seedlings, although it is so cold that spring feels a long way away.

when will spring be here? x

a chilly day in london yesterday....i think i {just about} pulled off the layering of a pretty floral dress, uggs, cardi's & scarves, and plenty of walking staved off much of the cold. it was so lovely to start looking at all the newness in the shops; a really cute muppet window in gap kids, great windows at top shop highlighting their key looks for the season, and of course plenty of spring flowers & colour at the ever wonderful cath kidston, not to mention lots of patriotic loveliness in preparation for the royal summer celebrations. will share some of my favourites from the new collection soon, but stumbled across these pics of cath kidston's home & wanted to share....

off to london today; a day of meeting with agencies & a little bit of {window} shopping, taking a look at all the lovely spring things & wishing of warmer weather. debating how many cardi's to layer & if both a scarf & snood is overkill, and will my uggs with my pretty floral dress hit this season's grunge look, or be more bag lady chic?

it's so cold & here in the uk the weather is wet & so very windy & it's hard to believe that spring will ever be arrive, so while we're waiting lets indulge in some lovely whimsical images...

....& very cold....fruit bread is baking {& yes, i'm cheating a little today with the breadmaker....}, & plans for the day are simple; a walk to our local market, sharing the chocolate cake i made yesterday with family {to ensure i don't eat the whole lot myself...}, the final coat of paint, & still in pursuit of that perfect charcoal flooring

oh, and maybe a little bit of knitting.....

this time last year we were knee deep in snow, annoying for those who still had christmas shopping to finish, but giving a wonderful christmassy feeling for those of us who had nothing more to do than sit indoors & wait for christmas to arrive. this year we have rain, lots & lots of rain....not particularly christmassy if you look out of the window, but with cinnamon rolls baking in the oven, presents wrapped & ready under the tree, tealights ready to be lit as soon as the sun goes down, christmas eve eve has arrived.....lets just not look out the window....

brrrrrrr.....it's so cold at the moment, well probably no colder than usual but i seem to be feeling the cold so much more at the moment & just want to wrap myself in cosy cardi's and oversized chunky socks, and then huddle on the sofa under snuggly knitted blankets indulging in hot chocolate....
