our england is a garden, and such gardens are not made
by singing....*oh, how beautiful!* and sitting in the shade,
while better men than we go out, and start their working lives
at grubbing weeds from gravel paths with broken dinner knives

i have had gardners in to clear the jungle that i have laughingly pretended was a garden
so i now have a wonderfully clear space to fill with beautiful flowers and pots and hanging baskets
and a nearly empty greenhouse to fill with homegrown tomatoes, lettuce and herbs

i love the idea of being a really glamorous gardener.....

....i'd wander purposely around my beautiful greenhouse
casually dressed in vintage cashmeretwine in hand i'd tend my spring bulbs
*sigh* gorgeously fresh white and greengiggle at the super cute potshang flowers up to dry
plant newly bought spring bulbs in vintage glass pots
chocolate! well, all this gardening is hard work....

apparently it is a very good year for dandelions

the mix of sunshine & showers has helped the *weed* to flourish across british gardens
